This in the underpainting for a work in progress.I am inspired by Frida’s personal relationship to painting as an outlet to process pain and give a voice to her experience as a woman. Her hand placed on her heart reminds me of the courage and strength she possessed to live a bold and fiercely authentic life; the vulnerability to bare her soul in such a fearless way through her paintings.
